The competition for development of mobile application using the open data is announced

National Information Technologies JSC would like to announce the competition among students for development of mobile application using the open data on the  portal.

The open data portal’s objective is to enable the citizens’ participation in public administration by using the data and creating applications based on it, as well as to perform comprehensive analysis and research.

Through the competition, NIT seeks to not only demonstrate the portal’s capabilities but also to encourage youths to create new useful applications and services. Авторское право на приложение остается за разработчиком.

Eligible for participation in the competition are university students, regardless of age or enrollment status.

The Competition’s prize pool:

  • 1st  position – MacBook Air;
  • 2nd  position – Apple iPad Air;
  • 3rd  position – Apple iPad mini.

Participants need to develop mobile applications for iOS (version 6+) or Android (version 4+) platforms using open data located on the portal via API. Multi-language interface will be welcomed, yet this is not compulsory requirement.

For your convenience, the applications may either be sent as APK file (for Android applications) /IPA file (for iOS applications), or be submitted via portal (as necessary, the devices’ identifiers will be provided);

All the competition participants may obtain from the dedicated NIT experts any consultations and answers to their questions.

The developed applications are to be sent to: through 29 September 2014 (please, add your name, contacts and the name of your university).

All mobile applications participating in the competition will be evaluated by the competent jury:

In evaluating, the idea’s originality, social importance, functionality and prospects of commercialization will be taken into account.

The competition results will be announced during the Global e-Government Forum October 6-7, 2014.
